SEVIERVILLE - The Smokies and Biscuits combined for 17 hits and five home runs but it was the Smokies who came out on top when it was all said and done. RF Bijan Rademacher led the way with two home runs for Tennessee on the way to a 9-3 victory for Tennessee.

The win puts the Smokies on their first winning streak of the season and improves their record to 6-7.

It did not take long for either club to get on the board in game three of the five-game series. The second pitch thrown by Biscuit's starter RHP Taylor Guerrieri (4.2 IP, 6 H, 7 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 4 SO. 3 HR) left the yard courtesy of CF Jacob Hannemann (1-5, R, H, RBI) sending one over the right-field wall for his first home run of the year. The Biscuits returned the favor in the top of the second inning as DH Kean Wong (2-5, RBI, R, 2 SO) and 1B Casey Gillaspie (2-5, R, 2 RBI) hit back-to-back solo shots to give the Biscuits a 2-1 advantage.

The home run show continued in the bottom half of the second as Rademacher (2-4, 2 R, 4 RBI, SO) sent a deep shot to right to tie the contest at 2-2; but he wasn't done there. The Southern League Player of the Week stepped up to the plate in the fourth inning and sent another one over the right-field wall. His second home run of the night was a three-run blast as 3B Jeimer Candelario (1-2, 2 R, RBI, BB, SO) and LF Mark Zagunis (0-3, R, RBI, BB) were on board for the Smokies.

After giving up the back-to-back home runs in the second inning, Smokies RHP Brad Markey kept the Biscuits off the board for the rest of his three innings of work and picked up the win for the night. Markey (5.0 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 3 SO, 2 HR) saw Montgomery load the bases in both the fourth and fifth innings. The former Virginia Tech Hokie escaped the fourth by getting 2B Tommy Coyle (0-4, BB) to pop out to third and got out of the fifth by striking out 3B Juniel Querecuto (1-4, SO).

Montgomery reliever RHP Jared Mortensen (2.1 IP, H, 2 R, ER, 2 BB, SO) took over for Guerrieri after he walked C Victor Caratini (1-3, BB, SO) to load the bases in the fifth. The Canada native then gave a free pass to Zagunis that walked home 2B Chesny Young (1-3, 2 R) to give Tennessee a 7-2 lead.

RHP Michael Jensen (2.0 IP, 2 H, ER, 2 BB, 2 SO) took over for Tennessee to start the sixth inning. The California native made quick work of the Biscuits in the sixth but found trouble in the seventh. Jensen walked RF Jake Bauers (2-3, R, 2 BB, SO) to start the inning then gave up a single to LF Johnny Field (2-5). Gillaspie then drove home Field from second base with a single to center to make it a 7-3 contest.

The seventh frame treated the Smokies well as they put two more runs up on the board to extend their lead to 9-3. Young was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning then stole second soon thereafter. Candelario was walked by a passed ball that pushed Young to third base. DH Billy McKinney (1-4, RBI, 2 SO) drove home Young with an RBI single up the middle. Mortensen then threw a wild pitch that allowed Candelario to score from third.

The Smokies gave the mound to RHP Josh Conwayin the ninth and the 25-year-old retired the side on just seven pitches.
