Providence Bruins Win over Hartford

The Hartford Wolf Pack out shot the Providence Bruins in the first period 12 to 5 but were unable to break through thanks to a strong performance by Dan Vladar. Early in the first Chris Casto found himself in the penalty box for tripping. Hartford power play didn't last long after the Wolf Pack's Chris Brownwas called for hooking. P-Bruins found themselves in another penalty kill later in the period when Tyler Randell was called for Hooking at 8:10. With a little over 5 minutes left in the period the P-Bruins were the first to get on the board. At 14:49 Peter Cehlarik scored his third of the season with an assist from Sean Kuraly. Hartford continued to push play for the remainder of the period. at 19:27 Anton Blidh was whistled for slashing giving the Wolf Pack a power play advantage to start the second period.

The P-Bruins begin the second period strong when Alex Grant nets his second of the season off an assist from Colby Cave 1:34 into the period. P-Bruins go on the power play 6:31 into the period when Dylan McIlrath is sent to the penalty box for high Sticking. After 22 saves by Vladar the Wolf Pack gets on the board with a goal shot in by Steven Fogarty with an assist from Malte Stormwall at 13:53. Just a minute later at 14:55 Blidh redirects a shot from the point by Grant for his 4th goal of the season. With Chris Summers in the penalty box for hooking the P-Bruins take advantage of the power play oppertunity and Cehlarik score his second goal of the game assisted by Grant and Jake DeBrusk. At 19:45 the clock stops for a fight the sends both P-Bruins Chris Casto and Wolf Pack's McIlrath off the ice for roughing and unsportsmanlike conduct.

The P-Bruins remained strong in the third period scoring two goals back to back. First Danton Heinen scored off of an assist from Cehlarik 4:48 into the period, then less than a minute later at 5:23 into the period Jake DeBrusk scores his second of the season unassisted. The P-Bruins went on a power play 12:24 into the period with Philip McRae in the penalty box for slashing. Shortly after getting back on the ice McRae scores a goal assisted by Matt Carey and John Gilmour getting their second goal of the game. Vladar protected the net with some spectacular saves, making 35 saves on 37 shots. The game ends with a final score of 6-2 in favor of the P-Bruins

The P-Bruins will be home at the Dunk again tomorrow at 3:05 for a matchup with the Wilkes-Barre/Scanton Penguins.
