Prout Recalled By Blue Jackets

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced on Friday that defenseman Dalton Prout has been recalled by their NHL affiliate, the Columbus Blue Jackets.

A second-year pro, Prout has combined a goal and eight assists for nine points this season and is +4 while contributing 73 penalty minutes. Prout scored four goals and added nine assists for 13 points and was -1 with 54 penalty minutes with the Falcons in his rookie campaign of 2011-2012. He made his NHL debut with Columbus at the end of last season, going scoreless with a +1 rating in five contests with the Blue Jackets. Prout, a 22-year-old from Kingsville, Ontario, was taken by Columbus in the sixth round (154th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. This is his first NHL recall of 2012-2013.

The Falcons complete their suspended Feb. 17 contest against Adirondack at 6:05 p.m. tonight before taking on the Phantoms in a full game at 7:30 p.m. Springfield hosts Providence on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. before welcoming Worcester to The Nest on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.

Single-game tickets to see the Falcons in 2012-2013 can be purchased at the MassMutual Center Box Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. through game time on Saturday home dates, and starting four hours prior to Sunday home contests.
