Jones, a nine-time Pro Bowl, seven-time All-Pro, and 2000's All-Decade Team selection in the National Football League, started in every game during his 13 year professional career. He played in 180 career games, all with the Seahawks, and was honored by the Seahawks who retired his number 71 on Dec. 5, 2010 at CenturyLink Field. He joined Steve Largent (#80) and Cortez Kennedy (#96) as the only three players to have their numbers retired in Seahawks history.
A part of the Seahawks run to Super Bowl XL in 2006, the 6-foot-5, 325 pound tackle served as the franchise's honorary captain and participated in the pre-game ceremonial coin toss the night of Seattle's victory at Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014, a 43-8 victory over Denver to claim the Seahawks' first title.
Jones, inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014 (first season of eligibility) and a former All-American at Florida State University and native of Aliceville, Alabama, was selected by the Seahawks at sixth overall in the 1997 NFL Draft.
The Silvertips, currently first place in the U.S. Division, return to play with a Saturday road game at 7:05 p.m. against the Spokane Chiefs (1380 AM / FM 95.3 / Tips App / WHL Live).
