On Saturday, the Cougars will be wearing special limited-edition Don Cherry-themed jerseys, that will be auctioned off through an online auction, with all proceeds going to the Prince George Chapter of the Canadian Kidney Foundation of Canada- BC Branch. DON CHERRY JERSEY AUCTION
"RE/MAX of Western Canada is excited to partner with Don Cherry and the WHL to help promote the importance of organ donation. These themed games will be fun for fans and will help generate support for the Kidney Foundation of Canada," said Elton Ash, Regional Executive Vice President, RE/MAX of Western Canada.
Fans coming to Saturday's game will go home a winner, as they will get a scratch ticket (while quantities last), and they will win either a limited-edition Don Cherry bobblehead, or a $10 voucher that can be used in "The Den," the Cougars' team store, or towards a ticket for any remaining home game this season. The team will also have limited quantities of Don Cherry bobbleheads for sale in The Den.
The Prince George Chapter of the Kidney Foundation of Canada will be selling mini helmets on the concourse for $10, with all proceeds going to the Kidney Foundation. RE/MAX will be giving away Don Cherry autographed trading cards and cherry flavoured lip chap.
Don Cherry's daughter, Cindy Cherry, will be in attendance Saturday for a ceremonial puck drop prior the game. The Kidney Foundation is a cause close to the Cherry family. Don's son, Tim, received a kidney transplant from Cindy.
That's not all, as Don Cherry's Sports Grill will have a BBQ set up outside the CN Centre starting at 5:30 pm on Saturday, with partial proceeds from every burger sale going to the Kidney Foundation.
Tickets are still available for the WHL Suits Up with Don Cherry Night, starting at just $13.
