Prince Albert, SK - The Western Hockey League leading Prince Albert Raiders improved to 11-1 with an 8-4 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Tuesday night at the Art Hauser Centre.
Calgary product Brett Leason continued his torrid start to the season scoring twice and adding two assists in a first star performance. Leason has hit the scoresheet in every game improving his WHL best point total to 26. Sergei Sapego, Zack Hayes, Jeremy Masella, Justin Nachbaur, Sean Montgomery and Carson Miller also found the back of the net for the Raiders who built period leads of 3-0 and 5-3.
Mark Kastelic, Zach Huber, Luke Coleman and Dakota Krebs provided the Hitmen goals with Tye Carriere picking up an assist for his first career WHL point.
Prince Albert outshot Calgary 38-24.
The Hitmen are back on the ice tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 17 in Saskatoon to face the Blades.
Calgary then heads to Moose Jaw on Friday, Oct. 19 and wraps up their four-game East Division tour in Brandon on Friday, Oct. 20. Their next home game is Friday, Oct. 26 against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. That night is Roughnecks Theme Night at the Scotiabank Saddledome where the atmosphere will take on the look of a National Lacrosse League Calgary Roughnecks game. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m.
The 2018-19 Hitmen Hockey Pass is still available and includes 34 game tickets to be used anytime, in any combination. Pass holders also receive a $50 Scotiabank Saddledome gift card and a complimentary ticket to a select Flames, Roughnecks or Stampeders game. Passes start at less than $7 per ticket for kids and under $15 for adults.
