Preview: Storm Travel to Fargo for Weekend Series

Fargo, ND - The Tri-City Storm travel to Fargo, ND tonight for a weekend series against the Fargo Force. The Force swept the Storm last weekend at the Viaero Center, winning two games by final scores of 3-1 & 6-3. Tri-City dropped a Wednesday night game earlier this week to rival Omaha by a final score of 1-0.

Tri-City (23-14-1-1) enters tonight's matchup with Fargo on a five game winless streak. Tri-City is currently in 5th place in the Western Conference standings, trailing league leading Omaha by nine points. The Storm have one game in hand and two remaining head to head matchups with the Lancers. Tri-City is now 4-6 in its last 10 games and will look to open the weekend with a road win over Fargo tonight at Scheels Arena in Fargo, ND. Fargo won both previous matchups in the season series. For the 2nd consecutive game, Tri-City will be without defenseman Jace Foskey as he serves the final game of a two game suspension for boarding. Filip Larsson has recorded four losses in goal for the Storm during the team's current five game winless streak. Jake Barczeswki recorded the loss in goal during the last matchup against the Force on Saturday night at Viaero Center. Filip Larsson remains the USHL leader in GAA (1.65), Save Percentage (.940), and shutouts (6). Tri-City goals and points leader Tyler Madden enters tonight's matchup with 11 goals and 22 points on the season. Madden remains the Storms top scorer despite not scoring a goal since the Storm's 3-1 win over Des Moines on January 12th. Bryan Yoon leads Tri-City with 21 assists on the season and has recorded 3 assists in his last 3 games with the Storm. Tri-City trails Fargo by two points in the USHL standings and can jump ahead of the 4th place Force with two wins this weekend.

Fargo (22-13-2-4) hosts Tri-City for the first time this season tonight at Scheels Arena in Fargo, ND. The Force currently hold a 2-0 season series lead after sweeping the Storm last weekend in Kearney, NE. Fargo currently holds onto the 4th spot in the Western Conference standings with 50 points. Fargo is 8-8-2-3 at home this season and is one of only two Western Conference teams below .500 on home ice. The Force have scored 8 more goals than the Storm this season, but have also allowed 17 more goals than Tri-City. Fargo is 3-4-1-2 over the last 10 games after spending the majority of the season in 1st place in the USHL league standings. Strauss Mann and Ryan Bischel have led the Fargo goaltending efforts this season and each he recorded double digit win totals. Bischel defeated Tri-City twice last weekend and improved to 11-6-1-3 on the season. His GAA of 2.33 is 7th best in the USHL. Mann enters tonight's matchup with a 11-7-1-1 record in goal for Fargo this season. He is 5th in the USHL in GAA with a 2.11 average for the season. Grant Hebert leads the Force with 34 points on the year, and is tied with teammate Ty Farmer for the team lead in assists with 23. Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup leads Fargo with 17 goals on the year but has not played for Fargo since January 6th due to an undisclosed injury.
