Kearney, NE - The Tri-City Storm host the Sioux Falls Stampede at the Viaero Center for the first time this season following the Storm's 5-2 defeat of Chicago on Sunday afternoon in Geneva, IL. Tri-City returns home for two matchups with Sioux Falls before travelling to Omaha on Sunday to complete the three game weekend.

Tri-City (28-19-1-2) enters tonight's game 1 point behind the Lincoln Stars for 5th place in the USHL's Western Conference standings. The Storm continue to push for playoff positioning with 10 games remaining in the regular season. Tri-City occupies the 6th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference and is currently 9 points back of Waterloo for 1st place. The Storm are currently 9 points ahead of 7th place Sioux City. Last weekend, Tri-City split a two game series on the road against the Chicago Steel of the Eastern Conference. The Steel defeated the Storm 5-2 on Saturday night, and Tri-City responded with a 5-2 victory of its own on Sunday afternoon. Storm goalie Jake Barczewski picked up the win in net and Tri-City got goals from Keaton Pehrson, Brian Hawkinson, Tyler Madden, Hugo Blixt, and Mike Koster in the win. Koster's 3rd period goal was his first in his USHL career. Tri-City has a home record of 12-11-1-0 entering tonight's game.
Sioux Falls (29-14-4-4) leads the season series 1-0 after defeating the Storm 4-2 on November 25th. The Stampede are 7 points ahead of the Storm in 4th place in the Western Conference standings. Sioux Falls won two road games last weekend against Des Moines and Sioux City. The Stampede have victories in 4 of their last 5 games entering tonight's matchup against Tri-City. Nolan Walker leads Sioux Falls with 45 points on the season. Adam Dawe is the team's goals leader with 23 on the year. Jack St. Ivany has compiled 29 assists on the scoresheet this season and leads all Stampede players. Stampede goalie Mikhail Berdin has an overall record of 21-8-2-3 on the season and is among the USHL league leaders in Wins, Goals Against Average, and Save Percentage. Berdin enters tonight's game against the Storm with a 2.53 GAA and a save percentage of .925.
