FC Kansas City News Release
KANSAS CITY - Two-time defending National Women's Soccer League champion FC Kansas City hits the road to take on the Boston Breakers at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at Soldier Field Soccer Stadium.
Both teams are still searching for their first victory of the season. The Blues are 0-3-2 and the Breakers are 0-5-0 entering the weekend.
FC Kansas City settled for a 0-0 draw at home against the Chicago Red Stars last match. It was the Blues' first shutout of the season and the defense has a 1.00 goals against average with 21 saves by Nicole Barnhart.
The Breakers fell 1-0 to Sky Blue FC last Friday and have yet to score a goal in their 2016 campaign. They have allowed seven goals this season.
The Blues will be playing their first game in three-plus seasons without midfielder Jen Buczkowski, who retired last week to focus on graduate school.
Former FC Kansas City defender Kassey Kallman is playing for the other side now and has started all five games for the Breakers.
