Preview: Comets Host Chicago with the Top of the Central Division on the Line

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The winner will claim the top of the Major Arena Soccer League's (MASL) Central Division this Saturday as the Missouri Comets (12-3) host the Chicago Mustangs (13-3) at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. The match, which will kick off at 1:05 p.m. CT will be streamed live on Go Live Sports Cast.

The Comets will be wearing and auctioning special edition jerseys for the annual pink game to support The Ali Kemp Education (TAKE) Foundation throughout the game.

This will be third and final meeting between both sides. Both teams will enter the match after defeating the Syracuse Silver Knights and the Baltimore Blast last week. Last November, the Comets earned a 9-5 win at Sears Centre before falling at home 10-3 to Chicago. Missouri leads the All-time series 4-1.

Coach Armando Gamboa's team has also secured a spot in the 2015/16 MASL Playoffs along with Missouri and Milwaukee. The Mustangs' only three defeats this campaign came against the Comets, Baltimore and Ontario. Forward Efrain "Wilo" Martinez leads Chicago with 19 goals and 18 assists for a total of 37 points.

On the other hand, the Comets are led by team captain Vahid Assadpour, who stands second overall with 43 points off of 18 goals and 25 assists. In addition, goalkeeper Boris Pardo stands third in the league with 11 wins, 165 saves and averaging 4.78 goals per game.

Next up, the Comets will visit the Milwaukee Wave in the first of a three-game road trip on Valentine's Day before returning home for the regular season finale against Baltimore on Saturday, February 27 at 7:35 p.m.
