Premier Basketball League Takes Over Operations In Jacksonville
February 4, 2008 - Premier Basketball League (PBL) News Release
(Chicago, IL)...The Premier Basketball League has announced that the Jacksonville Jam organization has been terminated and removed from the league. It is unfortunate that the Jacksonville Jam organization has failed to meet its obligations to maintain its status in the league, league officials stated. As PBL league rules dictate in situations such as this, the league officials assume administration of a team in Jacksonville. This provision of the PBL rules assures continuity of game schedules.
"While we do not like having to take this action, the PBL has mandatory requirements and rules, and should any organization falls short the league will take the necessary action to ensure the credibility and stability of the league. The owners were in unanimous agreement with the league office that this was the proper action to take at this time" stated PBL CEO Tom Doyle. "The PBL will not tolerate organizations that do not meet their obligations." Doyle added.
