(Kannapolis, NC) - The West Virginia Power edged the Kannapolis Intimidators 6-5 on Saturday night at Intimidators Stadium. The Power rallied back from a 4-1 deficit to defeat the Intimidators and take the lead in the season-series with seven wins to six losses. Of the six runs the Power scored, five came with two outs.

Power starter Stephen Tarpley surrendered a run to the Intimidators in each of the first three innings. Louie Lechich and Daniel Gonzalez each drove home a run with a groundout in the first and second inning, respectively. In the third, Toby Thomas singled to left to score Mason Robbins.

West Virginia scored its first run of the night in the second inning. After a leadoff double from Jerrick Suiter to start off the second, he scored on a two-out infield single from Taylor Gushue.

Following Gushue's infield single, Kannapolis pitchers retired 11 consecutive Power batters but West Virginia broke through with a four-run sixth inning to claim its lead. Pablo Reyes ended the Power drought with a five-pitch walk and Michael Suchy followed with a two-out walk. Suiter clubbed a two-run double to clear the bases and bring West Virginia to within one. Elvis Escobar drove home Suiter with an infield single to tie the game and Chase Simpson gave the Power a lead with an RBI triple to right.

The Power squandered its lead in the seventh inning. Toby Thomas hit the first home run by either team in this series with a solo shot to left to tie the game at five.

Suiter delivered his third double of the night to put the Power in front 6-5. Kevin Kramer reached on an infield single, advanced to third on a two-base wild pitch, and scored on Suiter's double down the right field line.

Julio Vivas (3-1) vulture the win after he surrendered the solo home run to Thomas. Brad Salgado (2-5) took the loss. Power closer Nick Neumann earned his 17th save of the season after he worked around a leadoff double in the ninth.
