Charleston, WV (July 6, 2009) - The West Virginia Power used a pair of big innings to erase a three run deficit at Appalachian Power Park on Monday night and defeated the Lakewood BlueClaws 8-4 to take their second game in the series.

The two teams exchanged blows in the third inning. Harold Garcia's sacrifice fly scored Vladimir De Los Santos in the top of the inning to give Lakewood the lead but West Virginia answered quickly and tied it in the bottom of the frame when Quincy Latimore scored on Tony Sanchez's two-out single.

The BlueClaws scored three times in the top of the sixth inning to take the lead. Jim Murhpy's single scored Anthony Gose and Zach Collier doubled in the next two runs to complete the inning. The Power answered with a four run sixth inning to take the lead for good. They recorded five straight one-out hits off Lakewood reliever Ryan Bergh. Latimore drove in the go ahead run moments later on a double down the left field line.

West Virginia plated three insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to pull away. Bomback began the inning with a walk and moved to second on Chourio's sacrifice bunt. Latimore singled into right field to put runners at the corners before Robbie Grossman walked to load the bases. Sanchez came through in a big spot once again with a two-run single to right center field and Erik Huber drove in the final run on a sacrifice fly.
