Off of a thrilling walk-off win Saturday night at Pfitzner Stadium, the Potomac Nationals (14-8) close out their homestand vs. the Wilmington Blue Rocks (6-16) at 1:05 Sunday afternoon. The P-Nats have won eight of their past nine games and sit 2.5 games behind division leading Lynchburg. Meanwhile, the Blue Rocks have dropped a league high nine straight and sit 10.5 games out of the division lead.
Potomac will send RHP Wirkin Estevez (0-1, 3.78) to the mound, as he will face off with Blue Rocks' RHP Pedro Fernandez (2-0, 1.21). Fernandez has a third of Wilmington's wins this season, and is 1-0 with a 1.04 ERA in three starts vs. Potomac. Estevez will also make his fourth start vs. the common opponent, as the Potomac righty is 0-1 with a 3.08 ERA in his first three starts vs. the Blue Rocks.
First pitch at The Pfitz is set for 1:05pm in Woodbridge, VA.
