The Capitals scored four runs in the second inning off Durkin. Cliff Brumbaugh led off the inning with a homerun, and Ryan Stevenson added a two-run single for an early 4-1 lead. Durkin (1-1) settled down after the big inning, pitching three 1-2-3 innings.

Flyers shortstop Tyler Keeble led the Orange County offense going 2-for-4 with an RBI-double, a triple, and a run scored.
