June 26, 2009 - California League (CalL1)
Stockton Ports News Release

STOCKTON, Calif.-The Stockton Ports will host "Re-Opening Night" on Sunday, June 28 at 6:05 p.m. as they embark on their first homestand of the second half.

The Ports are excited to begin the second half with a fresh slate and to welcome fresh faces on the field, as they compete against the Lancaster JetHawks, their opponent from the 2008 California League Championship series, and their arch rival, the San Jose Giants, in the upcoming homestand.

The Ports will celebrate "Re-Opening Night" with some of the accoutrements from April 16's Opening Night ceremony, including American flag bunting and a presentation of the full lineups for both teams. The Ports are excited to welcome their fans and newest Ports players to a new half with these fun festivities.

At "Re-Opening Night," fans are also invited to recall the excitement of last September when both the Ports and JetHawks met in the Championship Series. The Ports will play radio highlights from the title-clinching game in which Stockton claimed its 11th California League crown.

In addition to their showcasing their enthusiasm for a competitive second half in "Re-Opening Night," the Ports are proud to host area youth in a pre-game clinic for children aged 12 and younger on Sunday, which is free with a paid ticket to the 6:05 p.m. game. Children can learn great baseball skills from Ports players and coaches in the clinic, which runs from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fans can also meet Ports alumnus and current A's ace Dallas Braden on Sunday. Braden will be signing autographs for free for fans of any age. Children are also invited to run the bases following the game.
