Playoff Time Looms for Flash
HIDALGO, Texas- after sweeping teams on the west coast over the weekend while closing in on second place in Central Division of PASL, playoff atmosphere looms for the Rio Grande Valley Flash being half of a game behind second place holders Chicago Mustangs.
The game on Friday night at State Farm Arena will serve as a playoff tune-up for both teams looking to get into the post season.
The match for the Mustangs will be the first since February 1st since they defeated Harrisburg by a score 10-8 at home, while the Flash are coming off a west coast sweep by defeating Anaheim 18-4, and Mexico 6-2.
Head Coach Mariano Bollella declared that "It is important to win on Friday night. It will have the ingredients of a cup final as both the Mustangs and Flash battle it out for the final playoff spot. In our Illinois road trip, we lost to the Mustangs in dramatic form. We had a great start by scoring early and lost our composure."
Bollella stated that "If we could get that same start and continue with great intensity the outcome should be on our side. It is a match up that I have circled in the calendar since Sundays win over the Toros. I hope that the arena can be loud and intense so that the players can feed the crowd and make it uncomfortable for the opposition. It is a winner take all match and I hope to be on the winning side of it."
The match between the Flash and Mustangs will be on Friday, February 15th at the State Farm Arena with the kickoff set for 7:30 pm.
