Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release
PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Riverhounds (8-12-11) wrap up the 2017 season welcoming Ottawa Fury FC (8-10-13) for the first time ever to Highmark Stadium for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Oct. 14.
The second meeting between these two clubs this season, the Hounds prevailed in round one at TD Place Stadium by a score of one-nil thanks to a header from Corey Hertzog.
Formerly of the NASL, Fury FC currently sits 11th in the Eastern Conference table, while the Hounds slot in at 13th. A win on Saturday coupled with Saint Louis not capturing victory against Bethlehem would ensure Pittsburgh a finish within the top 10 of the standings.
Since 2011, the start of the current era of the USL, the Hounds are 1-4-1 in season finales. The club's lone victory came in 2015 at Harrisburg to ensure a playoff berth, while Pittsburgh is 0-2-1 at home to close out the season.
Off the pitch, the Hounds will be thanking the best fans in the USL for their support all season long with Fan Appreciation Night. In what is sure to be a fun-filled evening on the Mon, each fan will receive a scratch card upon entry with the opportunity to win autographed Hounds merchandise or special prizes from the club sponsors. Additionally, Play it Forward Pittsburgh has teamed up with the club to provide Hounds rally towels to the first 1,500 fans through the gate.
