Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

Waterloo, Iowa - Former Waterloo Black Hawks forward Rem Pitlick was claimed by the Nashville Predators Saturday during the NHL Draft.

He was a third round pick and selected 76th overall.

The University of Minnesota recruit skated in 47 Waterloo games with seven goals and nine assists during 2014/15. Last season, Pitlick was a member of the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

Former Hawk Captain Craig Smith contributed to the Predators' run to the 2016 Western Conference Finals. He joined Nashville in 2011 after being chosen by the organization in 2009. Since that pick, the Predators have also selected Waterloo's Zach Stepan in 2012 and Tom Novak last season. In addition to Smith, Hawks alumnus Mark Eaton played for Nashville near the outset of his NHL career.
