Pitching Staff Shuffle for Stars

April 27, 2007 - Southern League (SL1)
Huntsville Stars News Release

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Milwaukee Brewers have promoted right-hand pitcher Grant Balfour from Huntsville to triple-A Nashville and activated right-hand pitcher Bo Hall from the disabled list. Hall, who has been with the Stars all season, will be in uniform for the second game of a five-game series in Birmingham on Friday night.

Balfour, recovering from 2005 Tommy John surgery to his right elbow and rotator cuff surgery on his right shoulder, made eight appearances in relief for the Stars, recording two saves in four chances and posting a 2.38 earned run average in 11 1/3 innings. He registered 21 strikeouts, walked four and allowed three earned runs on eight hits.

Hall has thrown two two-inning simulated games while he recovers from a right calf injury. He will be pitching at the double-A level for the first time after being drafted by the Brewers in 2002. Hall went 5-5 with one save and a 5.77 ERA in three starts and 33 relief outings at high class-A Brevard County last season.
