Bristol State Liners News Release

It took 12 innings and just over four hours for the Bristol Pirates to win their third straight match with the Kingsport Mets in a 6-5 walk-off victory on Saturday night.

Brendt Citta drove in the game-winning run on his only hit of the night, hitting a leadoff single to right field to drive in Mason Martin who started the 12th inning at second base for Bristol. It was the first walk-off win of the season for the Pirates, and the first since August 28, 2017 when the Pirates recorded another 6-5 walk-off win in extra innings, also against the Mets.

Martin led the team on offense with a 4-for-5 performance including a double, a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored. Chase Lambert hit his second home run of the season in the win -- a solo shot to right field to make it a 3-1 game. Yondry Contreras had his first multi-hit performance of the season, finishing 2-for-3 with a run, one RBI and a stolen base.

Colin Selby threw a career-high five innings for Bristol, allowing two unearned runs on two hits and two walks while striking out two. John O'Reilly recorded a blown save in his home debut, as he surrendered a game-tying home run to Ranfy Adon in the top of the ninth inning. The home run was O'Reilly's only mistake in the outing, as it was the only base runner he allowed over two innings while striking out a career-high four batters. Vince Deyzel earned his third win of the season while allowing only one unearned run on two hits and one walk over the final two innings of the game.

The Pirates (13-16) will try to secure their second consecutive home series win with the Mets on Sunday night when Steven Jennings takes the mound at 6 p.m. Sunday's game is Church Bulletin Night at the ballpark, with all fans who bring their church's current weekly bulletin receiving $1 off general admission.
