Pink Uniforms and Postgame Auction Highlight Breast Health Awareness Night

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Fever host their annual Breast Health Awareness Night presented by Community Health Network on Friday, Sept. 9 when the Fever hosts the Chicago Sky at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Breast Health Awareness Week in the WNBA includes two days of BHA activities for the Fever, including a Fever Breast Cancer Zumba-thon on Thursday, Sept. 8 featuring Fever players Briann January and Jeanette Pohlen, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Studio G in Lafayette Square Mall. The event includes a fun workout, prizes and information on breast and ovarian health. The event is free and space is limited to the first 120 participants. Donations will also be accepted to benefit Community Health Network Foundation's Oncology Patient Assistance Fund.

On Friday, the Fever host the Sky in a matchup of teams vying for WNBA playoff positioning. Tipoff is 7:00 p.m. and doors open at 6:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to #WearPink in support of breast health awareness. The evening includes a parade of breast cancer survivors during halftime. The first 1,500 fans will receive a water bottle courtesy of Community. Friday's game is a Lucas Oil Family Night presented by IndyStar. Each family night ticket includes a Pepsi, chips, hot dog, Fever hat, and a postgame free throw on the main court! Family night tickets start at $22 and can be purchased at FeverBasketball.com.

Indiana's annual Breast Health Awareness night is highlighted by the team's pink uniforms. For the seventh year in-a-row, Fever players will wear special-order pink uniforms produced by adidas which will be auctioned for charity immediately after the game.

Immediately following Friday's contest, the seventh-annual Breast Health Awareness Live Auction features every player's game-worn pink jersey among other autographed items for bid to benefit the Community Health Network Foundation's Oncology Patient Assistance Fund. The entire Fever team and coach Stephanie White will assist with auction proceedings that also include pink shoes; autographed photos; and other autographed items from Fever players.

Over the past six seasons, Indiana Fever Breast Health Awareness auctions have raised over $170,000 for Community's cancer patients.

A WNBA playoff participant in 11 straight seasons and 12 times since 2002, the Indiana Fever have reached at least the conference finals eight times in the past 11 years - including WNBA Finals appearances in 2009 and 2015, and a WNBA championship in 2012.
