September 7, 2016 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will open the best of five Governors' Cup Semifinal Series with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Wednesday night at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
RHP Ben Lively (11-5, 3.06) will be on the bump for the IronPigs in game one. Lively earned the win on Friday at Rochester when he did not allow a hit while fanning 10 over six shutout innings. In two starts against Scranton this season, the reigning IL Pitcher of the Week has not allowed an earned run in 14.0 IP.
LHP Jordan Montgomery (5-1, 0.97) gets the ball for the RailRiders opposite Lively on Wednesday night. The southpaw's last start came on August 31 at Buffalo when he got the win after allowing two runs on six hits to go along with three strikeouts in 6.0 IP. Back on August 2 against the IronPigs in his Triple-A debut, Montgomery gave up two runs on seven hits over 6.2 IP and was tagged with the loss.
After notching a pair of hits on Monday, Pigs C Andrew Knapp has hit safely in his last eight games. During that stretch, Knapp is hitting .344-1-5 (11-32, 4 2B, 5 R).
The first 5,000 fans in attendance on Wednesday night will receive a Rally Towel Giveaway courtesy of Service Electric Cable TV & Communications.
