Pigs Look to Stay Hot in Rochester

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will look for their sixth straight win when they open a three-game series with the Rochester Red Wings on Friday night at Frontier Field. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.

RHP Phil Klein (1-0, 1.29) gets the ball for the IronPigs in the series opener on Friday. Klein got a no-decision on Saturday at Louisville after giving up one run on six hits while walking two and fanning five in 4.1 IP. Over 7 G (3 GS) with Lehigh Valley this season, the Youngstown State product has fanned 21 batters in 21.0 IP.

LHP Pat Dean (3-6, 5.42) will be on the bump for Rochester opposite Klein. On Sunday at Syracuse, Dean was dealt the loss after being tagged for six runs on eight hits to go along with two walks and two strikeouts in 5.0 IP. On July 7 against the Pigs at Coca-Cola Park, the southpaw allowed seven runs on 12 hits over four plus innings of work in a no-decision.

After notching a pair of hits in the win over Syracuse on Wednesday, Pigs INF/OF Darnell Sweeney is hitting .309-2-8 (17-55, 5 2B, 13 R) over his last 15 games. This story was not subject to the approval of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues or its clubs.
