Pigs Look to Stay Hot against Mud Hens

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will look for their fifth straight win when they host the Toledo Mud Hens in a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon. First pitch of game one is slated for 1:35 p.m.

RHP Mark Appel (3-2, 3.58) gets the ball for the IronPigs on game one. Appel got a no-decision on Monday vs. Syracuse when he gave up three runs on three hits to go along with four walks and six strikeouts in 5.2 IP. Over his last 3 GS, the right-hander is 0-2 with a 6.32 ERA (15.2/11).

LHP Daniel Norris (0-4, 8.06) will be on the bump for the Mud Hens. The southpaw was tagged with the loss on Monday at Buffalo when he allowed three runs on eight hits while walking one and fanning four in 7.0 IP. In five starts with Toledo this season, Norris has held lefties to a .100 average (2-20). The Johnson City, Tenn., native also appeared in one game with the Tigers this season and tossed a scoreless inning.

LHP James Russell (1-0, 0.96) will make the start for manager Dave Brundage's squad in game two. The southpaw's last outing came on Thursday vs. the Mud Hens when he earned the win after allowing two hits while walking one in 1.1 scoreless IP.

RHP Thad Weber (5-1, 1.49) toes the rubber for Toledo in game two. The right-hander earned the win on Tuesday at Buffalo when he gave up one run (none earned) on six hits to go along with two strikeouts in 7.1 IP. Weber has allowed two earned runs or less in six of his seven starts this season.

After tossing a scoreless inning on Friday, IronPigs RHP Edubray Ramos has now started his Triple-A career with 8.1 scoreless IP. In that time, the right-hander is 1-0 with seven hits and nine strikeouts over his 8.1 IP.

The first 3,000 fans 18 and older will receive an IronPigs Rubix Cube. In game two, the IronPigs will be donning Superhero jerseys. Sunday is also 80's Day at Coca-Cola Park and there will be Postgame Kids Run the Bases for all children 12 and under courtesy of the Children's Hospital at Lehigh Valley Health Network.
