Philips To Receive Motto Mclean Service To Hockey Award

Ralston, NE - Terri Phillips, Lancers Director of Business and Game Night Operations, will be honored by the Omaha Hockey Hall of Fame, receiving the Motto McLean Service to Hockey Award on January 20, the Omaha Hockey Hall of Fame announced.
Philips, in her 28th season with the Lancers, is joined by UNO's Terry Leahy and Gary Anderson as the 2017 recipients of the award. The award is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the sport of hockey through their longtime service to the sport.
"It's a great honor to receive this award," said Phillips. "I've been lucky to work with a lot of great people in the hockey community during my time with the Lancers. I am very humbled to be now be mentioned in the same breath as some of other recipients of this award."
Phillips began working for the Lancers in 1988 and has been an integral part of the front office ever since. Since joining the organization Phillips has handled everything from organizing the host family program, to overseeing tryout camps, to administering the organizations business operations.
"Terri Phillips has been the heartbeat of the Lancers Organization for a long time. It's great to see her get the recognition she absolutely deserves," said Lancers President Bryan Marshall.
The Fort Wayne native will be honored on January 20 at the Omaha Hockey Hall of Fame Luncheon that will take place at Ralston Arena. The Motto McLean Service to Hockey Award was first handed out in 2003. 18 different members of the Omaha Hockey Community have received the award since its inception 14 years ago.
