Adirondack Phantoms News Release

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia Flyers General Manager Paul Holmgren today announced the organizational signings of centermen Jared Ross and Pete Zingoni to AHL contracts. Both players will be returning for their second seasons with the Flyers AHL affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms.

"By securing these two players we have added speed to our Phantoms roster," said Holmgren. "In addition, both of these guys are hard working, great character players and we look forward to having them back this season."

Zingoni, a 25 year old that calls Bridgeport, Connecticut home, earned a spot with the club after being a Phantoms training camp invitee last season. In 2006-07 with the Phantoms, his first full campaign in the AHL, he scored 18 goals and added nine assists in 62 games: 62(18/9/27). Three of those goals came in succession as he recorded a natural hat trick November 11 vs. Binghamton. It was his first professional hat trick and just the fourth natural hat trick in Phantoms history. Zingoni's previous season was an injury riddled campaign in the ECHL. He was limited to only 16 games with the Trenton Titans, collecting five points on two goals and three assists: 16(2/3/5). Originally drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets with their 8th choice, 231 overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Zingoni joined the Syracuse Crunch at the conclusion of his senior season at Providence College. In five games with the 2003-04 Crunch, he had two goals and two assists: 5(2/2/4). The following season was spent in Europe with stops in Finland and Germany.

Ross arrived in Philadelphia last season from Chicago in a deal that saw Niko Dimitrakos loaned to the Wolves on February 28. Prior to his departure from the Windy City, Ross had bagged seven goals and eight assists in 41 games: 41(7/8/15). He added four goals and 10 assists in 21 games with the Phantoms: 21(4/10/14). The 2005-06 season was his first as a pro. With the Wolves, he collected 10 goals and 27 assists in 62 games: 62(10/27/37). He also added one scoreless game in the ECHL with Gwinnett to his 2005-06 totals. The 24 year old is a native of Huntsville, Alabama. He played four seasons under his father Doug at the University of Alabama-Huntsville and continues to hold countless school records, while ranking second all-time on the school's point scoring list. With the Chargers, he was also a teammate of Phantoms goaltender Scott Munroe.
