Peterborough Petes News Release
(Peterborough, ON) - The Peterborough Petes look to remain atop the OHL's East Division standings with a pair of home games against Western Conference opponents this weekend.
On Thursday, October 11 at 7:05pm the Petes will host the Erie Otters. The game is sponsored by Fresh 100.5, who will be giving fans the chance to 'Spin & Win' in the North Lobby of the PMC. The James Fund will be hosting a fundraising chuck-a-puck, and the Peterborough Pop Ensemble will perform the national anthems.
On Saturday, October 13 at 7:05pm more than 65 Petes alumni will be in attendance for a game against the Windsor Spitfires as part of Alumni Homecoming Weekend presented by Gibson's Finest Canadian Whisky. A special pre-game ceremony will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 1979 Memorial Cup Champion Petes, in which nearly the whole team will take part. The game is sponsored by Allstate Insurance, who will be giving a lucky fan the chance to win $10,000 in an on-ice rapid fire contest. The Petes will wear specialty jerseys designed by PTBO Northern Originals that will be auctioned off online with funds going to muscular dystrophy research, along with funds raised through a chuck-a-puck on Saturday night. Prizes available include a team-signed Petes jersey and numerous gift cards. The Trent Music Society will perform the national anthem.
Tickets for both games are available through the PMC Collins Barrow Box Office in person and over the phone Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 5:00pm, and 24 hours a day online.
In between the weekend's home games, the Petes will visit the division rival Oshawa Generals on Friday, October 12 at 7:35pm. Fans are invited to take in the game at an all-you-can-eat Petesa Party at the PMC. Tickets for the event include all-you-can-eat pizza and the opportunity to interact with 1979 alumni. Half price Petesa Party tickets are available online until 11:59pm ET on Wednesday, October 10.
