Peterborough Petes News Release
(Peterborough, ON) - The Peterborough Petes announced Monday that Shelbi Kilcollins and Madeline Rawson have been added to the team's Business Operations department.
Kilcollins will take on the new position of Engagement Coordinator and will be tasked with strengthening alumni relations and connecting the Petes with Peterborough's college and university student bodies. She previously held the positions of Interim Game Operations Coordinator and Communications and Marketing Intern with the Petes during the 2017-18 season.
After attending Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Massachusetts on a hockey scholarship, the native of Carleton Place earned an honours degree in Human Kinetics with a minor in Economics from St. Francis Xavier University where she was the sports and health editor of the Xaverian Weekly.
"Since joining the Petes as an intern in the fall, I have gathered tremendous insight into the various roles that allow the business operations of a hockey club to function effectively," noted Kilcollins. "I'm very appreciative of the opportunity I've been given by the Petes to work with their distinguished alumni while connecting a younger generation with the team."
Rawson will step into the role of Coordinator, Game Operations and Community Events in which she'll work to continue to improve in-game entertainment at Petes home games while spearheading all team community initiatives.
Hailing from Hamilton, Rawson is a recent graduate of Brock University's Sport Management program. She comes to the Petes with industry experience, having completed an internship with the Canadian Hockey League's national events team, working on the 2017 CIBC Canada Russia Series, the 2018 NHL/CHL Top Prospects Game, and the 100th MasterCard Memorial Cup Tour.
"I am looking forward to jumping into my role with such an excellent organization," added Rawson. "I hope to be able to use my national events experience to give Petes fans the best in-game entertainment we can, while continuing to grow the team's impressive commitment to the Peterborough community and surrounding areas."
"We're extremely excited to have Shelbi and Madeline join our staff on a full-time basis," said Burton Lee, Executive Director of Business Operations. "They each possess a diverse skill-set and bring a wide range of experience to our organization. I'm excited to see the immediate impact they will have on the Petes organization and the Peterborough community as a whole."
