Kalamazoo Wings News Release

KALAMAZOO, MI- Kalamazoo Wings forward Peter Schneider has been named as the CCM/ECHL Player of the Month, the league announced Wednesday.

Schneider posted 22 points on 13 goals and nine assists during 14 games played during the month of March. Schneider had points in 13 of 14 games during the month, and he's currently riding a 12-game point streak that dates back to March 5. Schneider's production helped propel the Wings to a 10-4-0 record during the month.

The native of Klosterneuburg, Austria, had multi-point performances in five of the Wings' March contests. Notable performances included a four-point (three goals, one assist) outing on March 31 against Florida, and three-point nights on March 3 against Brampton (two goals, one assist) and March 17 against Indy (one goal, two assists).

Schneider was acquired by Kalamazoo during a three-team trade in November that moved him from the Florida Everblades. Schneider had five points (one goal, four assists) in ten games before the trade, and has since earned 46 points (19 goals, 27 assists) with the Wings. Schneider's 51 points on the year are second to Justin Taylor (59) for the team lead.

The 26-year-old has recorded 96 points (40 goals, 56 assists) in 133 career ECHL games with Kalamazoo, Florida, and Indy. Before turning pro, Schneider played in 138 games at Notre Dame and amassed 47 points (22 goals, 25 assists).

Schneider is the fourth player in Kalamazoo's ECHL history to win Player of the Month honors, and he is the first since October, 2014, when forward Curtis Valk earned the decoration.

The Wings are headed to Wheeling, WV, to take on the Nailers on Friday, April 7, at 7:35 p.m. All the action from WesBanco Arena can be heard on AM 590/FM 106.9 WKZO, or online at http://player.listenlive.co/29131.
