DULUTH, Ga. - Marcus Perrier's overtime goal ended a scoreless stalemate between the South Carolina Stingrays (8-7-1-0) and the Atlanta Gladiators (10-9-2-1) Sunday afternoon at the Infinite Energy Center.

With the 1-0 victory, Stingrays' goaltender Adam Carlson recorded his first career shutout, making 19 total saves in the overtime win. South Carolina also moved above .500 for the first time this season.

The game stayed scoreless all the way through until the extra frame, when forward Rob Flick unleashed a shot from the top of the offensive zone that created a scramble in front of the Atlanta net. Perrier was able to bat the puck past Gladiators' goalie Zane McIntyre for his third goal of the season. John Parker was also credited with an assist on the play.

South Carolina put 37 shots on net during the contest, 36 of which were saved by McIntyre. The Stingrays held the league's second-highest scoring offense, averaging four goals per game coming in, to just 19 shots and no goals in the game.

Both teams were scoreless on the power play during the game, each going 0-for-2 on their man-advantage opportunities.

South Carolina will now battle the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in five consecutive games at the start of December. The first matchup will be in Greenville on Dec. 2 at 7:00 p.m. The Stingrays return to the North Charleston Coliseum ice Dec. 9 when they also battle Greenville at 7:05 p.m.
