York Revolution News Release

York, Pa- The York Revolution will send all-time Revolution home run leader Andres Perez against the best of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) in tonight's Home Run Derby before the All-Star Game in Lancaster.

In the first half of the 2016 season, Perez recorded his 1,000th career hit and his 500th hit with York and became the Revs' all-time leader in home runs, crushing a grand slam for his 60th long ball in a Revs uniform in the Revs' July 3 victory over Lancaster. He's batting .297 with 41 RBI and 9 home runs on the year and will make his franchise record fourth ALPB All-Star Game appearance tonight.

Each of the eight Atlantic League teams will be represented in the 2016 Home Run Derby prior to the ALPB All-Star Game and Farm Show tonight at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster.

Other contestants in the derby will be third baseman Josh Bell (Lancaster), first baseman Jose Cuevas (Bridgeport), outfielder Anthony Vega (Long Island), designated hitter Craig Maddox (New Britain), first baseman Bryan LaHair (Somerset), outfielder Jamar Walton (Southern Maryland), and catcher Travis Scott (Sugar Land).

All but Cuevas and Perez are left-handed batters.

Each contestant will remain at the plate until 10 outs are recorded. The top four from the first round will compete again under the same rules, with no carryover of scores from the preceding round. From there, the field will be whittled to two to compete for the Home Run Derby crown.

The competition will begin at 5:30. Gates for the All-Star Game and Farm Show open at 5:00.
