Penguins Turned Back by Senators

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins fired 44 shots on Binghamton goalie Robin Lehner, but it was the Senators prevailing, 3-1, at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
The Penguins enjoyed a 1-0 lead in the first period when Beau Bennett led a rush and picked a corner on Lehner at 8:21 for his sixth goal of the season.
The Senators came back to even the score with 3:30 remaining until the intermission as Derek Grant was left alone in front of the Penguins net and tapped a backdoor feed from Mark Stone past Jeff Zatkoff.
With the game knotted at one in the second period and the Senators skating on a two-man advantage, Binghamton took its first lead when Mike Hoffman buried Stephane Da Costa's cross-ice pass at 11:19.
Hugh Jessiman would provide an insurance goal six minutes into the third with a long wrist shot through traffic that found the back of the net.
The Penguins were not without their opportunities, having nine power plays in the game including two separate 5-on-3 advantages.
Lehner continued his stellar play this season against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, finishing the game with 43 saves and allowing only his fifth goal in four starts versus the Penguins.
Zatkoff's record fell to 11-11-0 as he made 12 saves on the night.
