Game #29

Puck Drop: 7:00 p.m.
Regina Pats (11-14-1-2) Spokane Chiefs (19-8-0-2)
Head-to-Head
The Pats face their final Western Conference opponent of the 2012-13 season tonight, the Spokane Chiefs. The teams came together once last season with the Pats on their November road trip. Spokane took the contest in a high scoring 6-5 shootout affair. Chandler Stephenson had a pair of goals in the loss while Blake Gal had a two point night for the Chiefs. The Pats finished up a lengthy six game stint away from the Brandt Centre with a 5-3 loss against Prince Albert last night. Meanwhile, Spokane started its long swing through the East Division with a dominant 7-2 victory over Swift Current. Tonight's game can be heard on 620 CKRM starting with the Press Box Sports Bar Pre-Game Show at 6:35 p.m. and will be televised on Access 7.
Lead Up: Pats Trumped by Raiders in P.A.
After not registering a shot for either team in the first five minutes, it was an offensive barrage from the Raiders the rest of the way. They peppered Matt Hewitt with 53 shots on the evening, but the Pats goaltender was equal to the task as he turned away 48 of them on the night. The Pats came from behind to even the game at 3-3 on a goal from Adam Brooks, but Mike Winther's second of the game and Leon Draisaitl's marker pushed the Raiders to the 5-3 win.
Solid Debuts
After missing 27 games due to a lower body injury, Pats forward Patrick D'Amico made his WHL regular season debut last night in Prince Albert. After the game, Pats' coach Pat Conacher praised D'Amico's play calling him one of the team's best forwards on the night. Connor Gay was also included in Conacher's group of top forwards. Playing in his first game after being called up, Gay grabbed his first WHL point, assisting on Adam Brooks' third period goal.
Home Sweet Home
The Pats play their first game at the Brandt Centre since their 4-0 victory over the Lethbridge Hurricanes on November 10th. In their six games away from home, the Pats posted a 2-2-0-2 record. Coming back to familiar ice, the Blue and White hold a 7-4-1-0 record at home.
