Pats Play Fourth Straight Road Game Monday

The Regina Pats (41-9-6-1) play their fourth straight game away from home on Monday afternoon in Prince Albert against the Raiders (16-39-3-2). Puck drop is 4 p.m. at the Art Hauser Centre. The Pats were last in action on Saturday in Moose Jaw and were shutout by the Warriors 4-0, their second consecutive loss. The Raiders played Saturday in Brandon and beat the Wheat Kings 4-1 for their third win in their last four games. The Pats hold a 6-0-1-0 record against the Prince Albert heading into this afternoon's eighth and final meeting in the season series. The game can be heard on 620 CKRM with Bennett Dunlop Ford Pats Hockey beginning at 3:35 p.m.

Lead Up: Pats Shutout in Moose Jaw Saturday

The Regina Pats were shutout for the first time this season in Moose Jaw on Saturday night, 4-0 by the Warriors. The Warriors took the 1-0 lead late in the first on the powerplay. It stayed that way until there was five minutes left in regulation. The Warriors then got a fast break goal and added two more late, one into an empty net and took the 4-0 win. Zach Sawchenko made 37 saves for the shutout and was named the game's first star. Tyler Brown was the third star making 24 saves. The Pats were oh for one on the powerplay and the penalty kill went four for six.

Head to Head

The Pats hold a 6-0-1-0 record against the Raiders on the season. Prince Albert won the first meeting, 4-3 in overtime on September 23. The Pats have won six in a row since then, three times at home and three times on the road. Regina has outscored the Raiders 46-16 in the first seven games. Adam Brooks leads the Pats with five goals and eight assists for 13 points in five games against Prince Albert. Austin Wagner, Jake Leschyshyn, Nick Henry, Dawson Leedahl and Sam Steel are next with nine points apiece. The Raiders are led by Simon Stransky who has three goals and three assists for six points against the Pats. Carson Miller has four points in the season series while Kolten Olynek has three. The Pats enter Monday in first place in the WHL with 89 points while the Raiders sit sixth in the East Division with 37 points. The Pats have won seven of their last 10 and the Raiders are 5-5-0-0 in their last 10 games.

First Shutout

The Pats suffered their first shutout loss of the season on Saturday night in Moose Jaw. Despite not scoring in the contest, Regina still leads the WHL in average goals per-game at 5.02. The Medicine Hat Tigers are a close second, averaging 4.8 goals per game. The Pats have racked up 286 goals in 57 games, four back of Medicine Hat who have 290 in three more games played. 131 of the Pats 286 goals have come on the road, an average of 4.36 goals for, away from the Brandt Centre. Regina has also given up an Eastern Conference low, 173 goals in their 57 contests, an average of 3.04 per-game. 85 goals against have come on the road in 30 games for an average of 2.83. Regina has the best road powerplay at 31.2 percent and the eighth best away penalty kill at 79.7 percent.
