Rockford IceHogs News Release

Rockford, Ill. - Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Wednesday that the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs and Pat Mullane have agreed to terms on an AHL contract for the 2013-14 season.

Mullane, a Wallingford, Conn. native, comes to Rockford after finishing his collegiate hockey career at Boston College. The 5'11" forward suited up in 163 career games for the Golden Eagles, registering 42 goals and 98 assists from 2009-2013.

As a senior during the 2012-13 season, Mullane served as the team captain for the Golden Eagles and also set career highs in goals (16) and points (43). Mullane becomes the third former Boston College captain to come to Rockford. Former IceHogs defenseman Mike Brennan captained Boston College during the 2007-08 campaign before joining Rockford, and forward Ben Smith served as assistant captain for the Golden Eagles during the 2009-10 season.

Mullane comes to the Hogs with a pair of NCAA Hockey national championships under his belt. Mullane won a national championship as a freshman in 2010 - along with forward Jimmy Hayes and Smith - and then helped Boston College capture another national championship in 2012.

Prior to his collegiate career, Mullane played one season for the USHL's Omaha Lancers where he laced up in 54 tilts and recorded 23 goals, 34 assists and finished with a +10 plus/minus rating.
