Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release

Fort Wayne, IN - Parkview Field is ranked No. 4 in the 2013 Top-10 Vegetarian-Friendly Minor League

Ballparks poll conducted by PETA. The home of the TinCaps climbed two spots in the rankings from a

year ago, when Parkview Field finished sixth.

"The TinCaps are on their way to the top, rising to second in the Midwest League East Division

standings and moving up to No. 4 in this year's Vegetarian-Friendly Minor League Stadium ranking,"

PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said. "Parkview Field's protein-packed black-bean burgers,

hearty veggie burritos, and fresh vegetable wraps let fans win at concession stands while they watch

the TinCaps win on the field."

PETA collected information from the food-service departments of minor league teams throughout the

United States and created a point system to calculate their rankings. Factors valued by PETA included

how hearty the vegetarian options were, as well as their prevalence at the park. For example, Parkview

Field's black-bean burger garnered more points for its heartiness than a salad, while having items like

fresh fruit available to all fans and not just those in suites also scored Fort Wayne a higher total.

"We're proud to be recognized for serving fresh and healthy items at Parkview Field," said TinCaps

Executive Chef and Culinary Director Scott Kammerer. "Our staff tries its best to accommodate the food

preferences of all fans, especially the growing number of those who are vegetarian and health conscious."

Parkview Field's concession stands provide dozens of vegetarian options for TinCaps fans, including

fresh fruit, veggies with hummus, various salads, wraps, black-bean burgers, meat-free burritos, and

grilled corn. In fact, one of Parkview Field's 19 unique food and beverage carts, Field of Greens Deli on

the third-base side, has recently introduced organic produce, too.

Parkview Field finished first among all 100 Class-A ballparks across the country and overall behind only

ONEOK Field (Double-A Tulsa), Durham Bulls Athletic Park (Triple-A Durham), and Arm & Hammer Park

(Double-A Trenton).
