Green Bay Blizzard News Release

Green Bay, WI- Two current Green Bay Blizzard players and one former Blizzard player worked out, recently, for the Green Bay Packers player personnel and scouting departments at the Don Hutson Center. OS Randall Lane, DS Chris Simms, and QB Chris Greisen were all invited to work out for the Packers by Director of Player Personnel, Reggie McKenzie and his staff. At the present time, none of the three players were offered contracts by the Packers.

Lane played in just 8 games for the Blizzard in 2004 but establishing himself as one of the premier players in the af2. Lane was voted onto the Second Team National All-af2 team by the coaches. Lane had 61 receptions for 1143 yards and 24 touchdowns. Lane was on his way to breaking many af2 records if a knee injury would not have sidelined him for the last half of the season.

Simms played in just 4 games for the Blizzard. Simms had 17 tackles, 3 pass defended, and 1 forced fumble.

Greisen was instrumental in leading the Blizzard offense for 10 games before a neck injury and a disagreement with the Blizzard coaching staff ended his season. Greisen completed 183-311 for 2718 yards and 61 touchdowns while throwing 10 interceptions. The tandem of Greisen and Lane were well on their way to af2 single season records. Greisen previously spent time with the Arizona Cardinals, Washington Redskins, and Rhein Fire of the NFL and NFLE, respectively.
