P-Nats Unveil 2016 Promotional Schedule

Woodbridge, VA - The Potomac Nationals are excited to unveil the club's complete 2016 promotional schedule for the upcoming campaign at Pfitzner Stadium.

The P-Nats have taken family-friendly, affordable entertainment to new heights in 2016 with a fleet of one-of-a-kind promo plans including: 15 fireworks shows, "Halfway to Festivus" Seinfeld Night and Top Gun 30th Anniversary Night in the spotlight as hallmark theme nights which will include on-field theme jersey auctions, a ton of premium giveaway items underscored by six bobbleheads/figurines plus an exclusive P-Nats' season ticket holder bobblehead, five commemorative t-shirts, a beer stein, a floppy hat, playing cards, rally towels, and 2017 magnet schedules.

Also on the Potomac Nationals' promo docket for 2016 is a schedule of celebrity appearances including a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar, a pair of pre-game team autograph signings (Sunday, April 17th and Sunday, September 4th), a set of game-used, autographed jersey auctions highlighted by on-field jerseys promoting Autism Awareness, Bad News Bears 40th Anniversary, Batman v Superman, and Star Wars with an Admiral Ackbar likeness to benefit non-profit organizations, special events, and much, much more.

The 2016 season will symbolize the highest level of promotional entertainment hosted at The Pfitz in the history of the Potomac Baseball franchise.

The P-Nats will be giving away the following Saturday night collectable bobbleheads/figurines in 2016 at a count of 1,500 per giveaway date:

The '16 P-Nats' Fan Vote Bobblehead likeness will be announced on January 31st at the Potomac Nationals 21st Annual Hot Stove Banquet and Silent Auction at Old Hickory Golf Club in Woodbridge, VA.

All 2016 P-Nats' season ticket holders including mini plan holders will receive an exclusive 1985 Prince William Pirates Barry Bonds Throwback Bobblehead upon purchase of their 2016 Potomac Nationals' ticket plans.

As a nod to the on-field excellence of past P-Nats stars and to recognize special events, the Nationals will hold these commemorative t-shirt giveaways in 2016:

-Potomac Baseball Hall of Fame Induction T-Shirt (Friday, August 5th; Induction Night) [Potomac Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Honoree To-be-Announced following official voting process]

U.S. Foods will sponsor a P-Nats Playing Cards giveaway on Friday, June 10th while PMSI will present a P-Nats Beer Stein giveaway on Saturday, June 18th. A P-Nats Floppy Hat giveaway dots the 2016 promo schedule on Sunday, June 12th.

Nationals fans will be treated to post-game fireworks blast-offs every Saturday night, select second-half Sunday evenings, and on Monday, July 4th, the P-Nats will host the best fireworks extravaganza of the 2016 season to celebrate Independence Day.

To-be-announced celebrities will be on hand at The Pfitz to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, take pictures with fans, and sign autographs on Friday, July 8th presented by: Lindsay Automotive Group while a WWE legend will grace the ballpark on Friday, August 19th.

The most popular theme night to attend in all of Minor League Baseball will take place at the Home of the Potomac Nationals on Saturday, July 23rd. In the spirit of anti-commercialism and all-inclusive holiday gatherings, "Halfway to Festivus," a spin-off of a popular made-up holiday originating from one of the most syndicated television shows of all time, Seinfeld, will thoroughly entertain the P-Nats' faithful. The event will feature a Frank Costanza Festivus-themed bobblehead giveaway and a to-be-announced Seinfeld celebrity on hand to meet and greet fans and sign autographs. Meanwhile P-Nats players will be wearing on-field "Halfway to Festivus" parody jerseys that will be signed and auctioned on the stadium concourse to fans. Festivus décor (or lack their of) will don The Pfitz and Festivus trivia will blanket the outfield jumbo-tron video board. Fans will be encouraged to visit the centerpiece of the evening, the "Festivus Pole," participate in the "Airing of Grievances" on the ballpark concourse, and engage in the "Feats of Strength" on the field during the game. Free entrance will be granted to any fans with the last name, "Costanza." More theatrics for "Halfway to Festivus" will be announced closer to the event.

Military Appreciation Night, co-sponsored by First Command Financial Services and Little Caesars Woodbridge, Dale City, & Warrenton, a staple of the Potomac Baseball franchise, will honor the armed forces community in Northern Virginia on Sunday, July 24th. Military members from all over the region will enjoy a night of appreciation for their duty to the United States of America.

Special game-used, on-field, autographed theme jersey auctions have been scheduled around Bad News Bears 40th Anniversary Night (Saturday, May 7th), Autism Awareness Day sponsored by: Lindsay Automotive Group (Sunday, May 29th). Superhero Night (Batman v. Superman jerseys on Saturday, June 11th), Star Wars Day (Admiral Ackbar jerseys on Sunday, June 19th), "Halfway to Festivus" Night sponsored by: Paxton Companies (Saturday, July 23rd), and Top Gun 30th Anniversary Night (Saturday, August 6th), to benefit non-profits. The designs for the unique, one-of-a-kind jerseys to be worn by Potomac Nationals players and coaches on the dates of these games are yet to be released.

P-Nats intern members will compete in a battery of physical challenges during the 2016 P-Nats' Summer Intern Olympics from games from Thursday, August 4th (Opening Ceremonies) to Thursday, August 11th (Closing Ceremonies). May the best intern win!

The Potomac Nationals will be inducting a former franchise player into the Potomac Baseball Hall of Fame on Friday, August 5th. The induction of the player will be announced during the 2016 season once Hall of Fame voting is complete. In 2015, OF Mike Cameron was enshrined as the 11th member of the club's exclusive all-time Hall of Fame Class.

Middle School Day to benefit Prince William County Public Schools with the Potomac Nationals is underlined for Wednesday, April 20th and first pitch will be thrown at 10:35am.

A Mother's Day event on Sunday, May 8th will be a "thank you" to all Moms who follow the P-Nats. Mothers in attendance at the game will receive a flower while entering The Pfitz, have the chance to win nine innings of prizes through a raffle, receive in-game recognition on the public address system, and participate in a wine tasting and a post-game "diamond dig."

The Nationals will bring four Scout Nights to The Pfitz in 2016 for area boy scouts to camp out on the Pfitzner Stadium diamond and enjoy a post-game screening of a baseball movie while sleeping under the stars. Scout Nights will take place on Saturday, May 28th, Saturday, June 18th, Friday, July 22nd, and Saturday, August 20th.

A pair of summer camp/day care games will be hosted on Wednesday, June 29th and Wednesday, July 27th with both contests beginning at 12:05pm.

Additional theme nights for the 2016 season include: Little League Nights, a quartet of Uncle Slam's Reading Program Days/Nights, Osbourn Park High School Fundraising Night, Garfield High School Fundraising Night, Woodbridge High School Fundraising Night, Flying Dog and Port City Brewing Beer Tastings, Wing Fling V, Senior Night, Harry Potter Night, Dr. Seuss Night, Magic School Bus Day, Cinco de Mayo/Hispanic Heritage Night, Italian Heritage Night, Young Professionals Night, Country Night, two Working Man's Lunch Days, Memorial Day, Ladies Night with Speed Dating, Hog Night, a pair of Food Truck Nights, two Recycling Pays Nights, Faith Night, HomeAid Northern VA Fundraising Night, Jimmy Buffett Night, Irish Heritage Night, Bark in the Park Days, and many more!

A sprawling Father's Day celebration sponsored by: Virginia Department of Social Services: Putative Father Registry on Sunday, June 19th will treat all Dads in the crowd to mid-contest recognition on the PA microphone and much more including a Father's Day Picnic buffet option. Fathers in the stadium will have the opportunity to speak baseball with Potomac Nationals Field Manager, Tripp Keister and talk lawncare with P-Nats Head Groundskeeper, Justin Sadowski before the game in advance of receiving nine innings of prizes raffled off during the game while checking out "guy-targeted" products on the stadium concourse booths and bidding on Star Wars Day game used, autographed jerseys.

The most exciting game of the 2016 season is Fourth of July Monday as P-Nats fans will be able to purchase "Food, Fireworks, & Fun" loaded tickets that include a pre-game picnic pass, a reserved ticket, and the biggest fireworks extravaganza of the season after the ballgame.

Three Community Nights will don the 2016 schedule on Thursday evenings in which corporate partners distribute banks of complimentary tickets to their customers, clients, and employees. Community Nights at The Pfitz are scheduled for Thursday, June 16th, Thursday, July 7th, and Thursday, August 3rd.

Also, the P-Nats will be renewing the tradition of a non-profit softball classic showdown (date is to-be-determined).

The red, white, and blue will be hosting a to-be-announced premium special event on Friday, September 2nd.

P-Nats' Fan Appreciation Night is ticketed for Labor Day (Monday, September 5th), the last P-Nats' contest of the 2016 regular season.

Select second-half fireworks shows on Sundays are back in 2016 with three specific Sunday games after the Carolina League All-Star Break beginning at 6:05pm scheduled to be followed by a fireworks show. (Sunday, July 24th, Sunday, August 21st, and Sunday, September 4th.)

Kids will have the opportunity to race the bases after every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday game during the 2015 season.

The always-popular, Tennis Ball Toss will be running after all 70 games where fans will be able to rent tennis balls during the game to throw onto the field post-game in order to unlock prizes from corporate partners of the Potomac Nationals.
