P-Bruins Fall To Monarchs 2-0

Manchester, NH - The Providence Bruins fell to the Manchester Monarchs 2-0 Sunday afternoon at the Verizon Wireless Arena. The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday at 7:05 p.m. for Kid's Hat Night against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

The Monarchs took a 1-0 lead at the 13:59 mark of the opening period, while on the power play. Bud Holloway tallied his tenth goal of the season, with Shawn Bates and David Kolomatis recording the assists. Manchester led 1-0 going into the first intermission.

Manchester made it 2-0 at the 3:20 mark of the second period. Kevin Westgarth netted his sixth goal of the season, while Dwight King and David Meckler picked up the assists. The Monarchs led 2-0 going into the second intermission.

After a scoreless third period, the Monarchs went on to the 2-0 victory.

Kevin Regan stopped 23 of 25 shots for the P-Bruins, while Jeff Zatkoff made 36 saves for the Monarchs. The P-Bruins were 0-for-3 on the power play and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.

Providence returns to action Tuesday at the MassMutual Center against the Springfield Falcons at 7:00 p.m. The P-Bruins are at The Dunk Friday at 7:05 p.m. for Kid's Hat Night versus the Sound Tigers. Providence heads back to Springfield Saturday to face the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. before wrapping up the week at The Dunk Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for Kid's T-Shirt Night against the Portland Pirates.
