OREM - The Ogden Raptors (14-9, 33-28) outhit the Orem Owlz (12-11, 36-25), but left multiple runners on base in five separate innings on Monday night in a 7-4 loss that snapped a six-game road winning streak.

Jake Henson was thrown out at the plate to end the second inning, Jordan Paroubeck and Matt Jones were stranded in scoring postion at third and second respectively with just one out in the third, and Faustino Oguisten grounded into an inning-ending double play in the fifth.

Orem struck first with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, capped by a two-out RBI double by Alex Abbott. Ogden got on the board in the top of the third when Gersel Pitre led off the inning with a ground-rule double and scored on Kelvin Ramos' RBI groundout.

The two teams traded two-run innings from the bottom of the third through the bottom of the fourth. After the Owlz extended the lead to 4-1 in the third, Michael Medina and Oguisten hit back-to-back singles and scored on Pitre's RBI groundout and Paroubeck's RBI single in the top of the fourth. Paroubeck finished the game with a season-high four hits, all of them singles.

Orem then made it a three-run game again in the bottom of the inning on a following an RBI double by Jared Foster. Pitching and defense dominated until two isolated solo home runs - one by Orem's Abbott in the seventh and one by Ogden's Alex Santana in the ninth.

Ivan Vieitez (1-4) allowed six runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings to pick up the loss. Ronnie Glenn (6-1) earned the victory in relief for Orem.

Ogden's Kevin Brown and Orem's Jared Ruxer will start in the series finale on Tuesday night at 7:15pm MT in Orem.
