Ontario Reign Game Preview: Reign and Gulls Collide Tonight in San Diego

Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), visit the San Diego Gulls tonight at 7:05 p.m. PT at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, CA. Tonight is the seventh of 12 meetings between the two teams this season.

Dropping the Gloves:

The Reign and Gulls are among the top three teams in the American Hockey League in average penalty minutes per game. The Gulls rank first with 20.92 penalty minutes per game while the Reign stand third with 17.34 penalty minutes per game.

"O Captain! My Captain!":

Reign team captain Vincent LoVerde leads the team and the head-to-head series with the Gulls with seven points (one goal, six assists).

Special Teams Are Special:

The Gulls boast the fourth-best power play in the AHL at 21.7 percent (35 goals on 161 opportunities) and face the second-best penalty kill in the Ontario Reign at 86.5 percent (24 goals against on 178 opportunities).
