Oklahoma rebounded from getting shutout for the first time this season with a 12 run, 14 hit parade against New Orleans last night. Jason Ellison lead off the home half of the first with a double, and Zephyrs starter Ruddy Lugo (3-2) didn't get the first out until the fifth batter of the inning, when John Mayberry hit a sacrifice fly that brought home the second of four runs in the inning. Nelson Cruz two home runs, Taylor Teagarden hit his first, and the RedHawks rolled to an 8-0 lead after four innings. New Orleans got on the board in the fifth when Anderson Machado hit a solo home run off Oklahoma starter Dustin Nippert (2-0). The RedHawks added four more in their half of the fifth, three of which came on a Nate Gold double with the bases loaded. Nippert allowed two more runs in the sixth, but left with his first quality start in four chances during his rehab stint with Oklahoma.

OKL LUMBER COMPANY:

The RedHawks bats erupted for 14 hits last night, seven of which went for extra bases. It marked the first time that the RedHawks hit three home runs in a game since May 2, and the first time Oklahoma scored in double digits this month after surpassing the ten-run tally four time during April. The 12 runs were the third most that the RedHawks have scored in a game this season.

Golden:

Nate Gold has now walked four times with the bases loaded this season. Gold walked with the bases loaded in the first inning and finished with his first four RBI game of the year. His three-run double in the fifth inning capped the RedHawks scoring in last night's win and extended the lead to 12-1 at the time. Gold has made a living with the bases loaded this season with 11 of his 36 runs batted in coming with the bases full.

TEAGARDEN POWERS TO 11:

Taylor Teagarden hit his first career Triple-A home run in the third inning last night and extended his hitting streak to 11 games in the process. The RedHawks catcher had hit 36 over his young professional career, including combining for 27 last season, but hit his first at this level in his 14th game in Triple-A. Teagarden's streak is the second longest current run in the PCL, three games behind Colorado Springs Ian Stewart 14-game streak. Iowa's Andre Torres has the longest hitting streak this season in PCL play, hitting in 24 straight from April 14 through May 9.

New Orleans AT A GLANCE:

Anderson Machado's fifth inning home run was his first since August 21 last season when he was a member of the Louisville Bats... Ruddy Lugo's ERA jumped from 2.70, seventh best in the league entering play last night, to 3.98 after allowing seven earned runs over three inning pitched.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION:

Texas fell at Minnestoa 7-6 in 12 innings... Frisco beat San Antonio 4-1... Bakersfield held off Lancaster 10-9... Clinton allowed three runs in the ninth and lost 6-5 to Beloit.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

Nelson Cruz hit two home runs for the third time this season, and hit his first since May 2 in last night's win. Cruz has regained the league lead in slugging percentage, and is second in home runs behind Albuquerque's Dallas McPherson, who hit three last night. Nate Gold is now tied for second in the PCL with 36 runs batted in after driving in four last night.
