TACOMA, Wash. - The Tacoma Rainiers (55-41) dropped a 7-0 decision to the Oklahoma City Dodgers (54-42) on Wednesday night at Cheney Stadium, ending the Rainiers eight-game winning streak.

The Dodgers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Micah Johnson led off the game with a double to left field and came around to score on a double from Will Venable. Austin Barnes followed with a two-run home run to left-center field.

Oklahoma City scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning, sending nine batters to the plate in the process. James Ramsey led off the frame with an infield single and came around to score on a double down the left field line from Alex Hassan. Four batters later, Venable plated Hassan and Drew Maggi with an infield hit, and later scored on a two-out single from Rob Segedin, extending the Dodgers lead to 7-0.

Rainiers starting pitcher Cody Martin took his sixth loss of the season after allowing five runs on 10 hits over 5.1 innings of work - he issued no walks, struck out five, and surrendered one home run.

Paul Fry and Guido Knudson worked the final 3.2 innings for Tacoma, holding Oklahoma City to two runs on two hits while striking out one and issuing three walks.

Tacoma right-hander Jarrett Grube (1-1, 4.62) and Oklahoma City righty Ross Stripling (0-2, 3.78) will square off as the Rainiers and Dodgers conclude their series tomorrow, Thursday, July 21. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. PT.
