Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers continue their homestand and open a five-game series against the Iowa Cubs at 7:05 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The first 2,000 fans through the gates at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark will receive a Dodgers picture frame, presented by iFly Indoor Skydiving.

Last Game: The Dodgers scored seven runs through the first four innings and starting pitcher Brock Stewart struck out 10 Round Rock batters in an 8-2 win Friday in front of a sellout crowd of 10,096 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Stewart (3-0) held the Express to two runs and four hits over 6.0 innings with one walk and 10 strikeouts. He retired 12 of the final 13 batters he faced to improve to 3-0 in his first three Triple-A starts. Round Rock took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a RBI single by Brett Nicholas. The Dodgers answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead. Corey Brown hit a RBI single to tie the game, and Chris Taylor followed with a two-run double into left field for a 3-1 edge. The Express cut into the Dodgers lead in the top of the third inning on a solo homer by Delino DeShields that landed on the Budweiser Deck in left field. The Dodgers added two runs in the bottom of the third inning - the first on a missed catch error by third baseman Joey Gallo and the second on a sacrifice fly by O'Koyea Dickson for a 5-2 lead. The Dodgers loaded the bases in the bottom of the fourth inning for Zach Walters, who hit a two-run single into right field to make it 7-2. With the bases loaded again for the Dodgers in the bottom of the eighth inning, Charlie Culberson was hit by a pitch from Justin DeFratus to bring home the Dodgers' eighth run of the night. Along with Stewart, OKC relievers Sam LeCure and Matt West combined to retire 21 of the final 23 Round Rock batters. Express starting pitcher Richelson Pena (0-1) was charged with the loss, allowing seven runs (five earned) and 10 hits over 3.1 innings.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Jose De Leon (0-0) makes his fifth start of the season with the Dodgers...He most recently pitched against New Orleans June 18 at Zephyr Field. He allowed one run and two hits over four innings, with two walks and three strikeouts...Through his first four games this season, De Leon has held opponents 6-for-50 (.120) and he has struck out 24 of the 56 batters he has faced. He currently owns a 4.8 strikeout-to-walk ratio and averages 14.4 strikeouts per nine innings...He joined OKC after spending a month in extended spring training. After making his season debut May 3 against New Orleans, he was shut down for a little over a month with right shoulder soreness. Tonight is his fourth appearance since coming off the DL...He split the 2015 season between High-A Rancho Cucamonga and Double-A Tulsa and made a total of 23 starts, going 6-7 with a 2.99 ERA, .208 opponent average, and a 1.08 WHIP. He ranked tied for fourth in the Minors with 163 strikeouts and topped the Minors with 12.83 strikeouts per nine innings. During the season he racked up six double-digit strikeout games, with a season high of 12 (twice)...De Leon was selected by the Dodgers in the 24th Round of the 2013 Draft from Southern University in Baton Rouge, La...Tonight marks De Leon's first career appearance against Iowa.

Against the I-Cubs: 2016: 3-4 2015: 12-4 All-time: 127-133 At OKC: 68-61

The I-Cubs swept the most recent, rain-shortened series between the teams May 31-June 3, 3-0, for their first series sweep in OKC since Aug. 10-13, 2007...Through just seven games, the I-Cubs have already matched their 2015 win total against the Dodgers (four)...The Dodgers won the first series of the 2016 season between the teams, 3-1, in Des Moines, April 23-26...Austin Barnes has hit .383 in the season series, and Rob Segedin leads OKC with eight RBI and 10 runs scored...OKC has had no answer for Iowa first baseman Dan Vogelbach, who is batting .520 (13x25), with six extra-base hits, seven runs, and five RBI in seven games...The Dodgers won the 2015 series between the teams, 12-4, but the Dodgers hit just .216. Nine of the 16 meetings were decided by one or two runs.

Winning Ways: The Dodgers have won seven of their last nine games, as well as nine of the last 12 games. They already have 14 wins in June, going 14-9 this month to match their highest monthly win total of the season thus far...Additionally, the Dodgers have won six of their last eight home games, immediately following a stretch where they had lost seven of nine in Bricktown.

New Kid on the Block: Chris Taylor is off to a flying start in his first three games with OKC. He has gone 6-for-12 with three doubles, three RBI, and three runs scored since being acquired from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for Zach Lee on June 19...Between OKC and Tacoma, Taylor is batting .320 (14th in PCL), while ranking sixth in the league with 83 hits and third with 22 doubles.

Austin's Powers: Since returning to the OKC Dodgers, Austin Barnes has hit safely in all eight games, going 9-for-33 (.273) with two homers, three doubles, and four RBI...He's hit safely in each of his last 15 games with OKC, batting .333 (21x63) with five multi-hit games. His 15-game streak is a career best and the longest by a Dodgers player this season. It's also the fifth-longest hitting streak of the season in the PCL and the second-longest active streak (Willson Contreras, Iowa - 17).

Pitchers on Strike: Brock Stewart recorded his second consecutive game with 10 strikeouts Friday, marking the third time this season a Dodgers pitcher recorded a double-digit strikeout total (Jharel Cotton, May 23 at Fresno)...OKC's pitching staff leads the league with 660 strikeouts. They struck out 12 Round Rock batters Friday, marking the 32nd time this season they have struck out at least 10 batters in a game...The Dodgers are on pace to notch 1,302 strikeouts this season, which would blow past the team's single-season record of 1,114 set last year...Over the past two games, the Dodgers pitching staff has recorded 25 strikeouts against one walk. For the season, they own a league-best 3.11 strikeout-to-walk ratio and have been even better in June, bumping it up to 4.24 K/BB (212 K/50 BB).

First Inning Fatigue: Just like the Rihanna song says, it's been nothing but work, work, work, work, work for opposing starting pitchers in the first inning lately. In each of the last eight games, the Dodgers have made the opposing starting pitcher throw at least 23 pitches to complete their first frame. During the previous series, Round Rock's starters needed at least 25 pitches to get through the first inning all four games, including 34 pitches by Richelson Pena last night.

Short Hops: Reliever Layne Somsen was added to the active roster after recently being claimed off waivers by the Dodgers from the New York Yankees. In 14 Triple-A games this season between Louisville and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Somsen has posted a 1.44 ERA and .149 opponent average with 29 strikeouts over 25.0 innings...Over the last two games, the Dodgers have scored 14 runs while batting .366 (26x71), including 9-for-23 with runners in scoring position...The Dodgers are 9-1 on Saturdays, winning each of the last eight.
