Oilers Shut Down by Brahmas in 5-1 Loss

Tulsa Oilers News Release

FORT WORTH, TX - Just 24 hours after recording one of their biggest wins of the season, the Tulsa Oilers were unable to follow up with a similar performance against the Fort Worth Brahmas. Tulsa scored the game's first goal but surrendered five unanswered tallies to Fort Worth in a 5-1 setback at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

David Alexandre Beauregard flipped a puck past Brahmas netminder Kristofer Westblom at the 1:17 mark of the first period to give Tulsa the early edge. It appeared the Oilers were off and running but Beauregard's third goal of the season was all the offense Tulsa was able to muster.

Brahmas' forwards Tomas Klempa and Sy Nutkevitch scored goals just 1:34 seconds apart to give Fort Worth a 2-1 lead and the home side never looked back. The Brahmas added two goals in the second period and one in the third to earn their third straight victory and second in a row over the Oilers.

Westblom, who has allowed only one goal in his last three starts, made 17 saves and recorded his fourth victory of the season. Oilers goalie Ian Keserich made 16 saves on 20 shots through two periods of action. Mike Garman took over for Keserich to start the third period and made 8 saves on 9 shots.

The Oilers are now 1-5-1 in their last seven games and fell to 3-7-0 on the road.

Tulsa returns to the BOK Center on Sunday afternoon for a 4:05 pm tilt against the Arizona Sundogs.
