Tulsa Oilers News Release
TONIGHT'S MATCHUP
The Tulsa Oilers and Quad City Mallards have split two meetings this season. Tonight, Tulsa will host the Mallards for their third of a five-game season series. These two squads will battle again tomorrow night in the BOK Center for the last time until their final meeting on April 1 at the iWireless Center.
All-time, the Oilers are 12-9-3 against the Mallards. Tulsa holds four spots above Quad City in the Western Conference with 50 points to their 47.
ROLLING MEADOWS ROOKIE ON ROLL
After a 14-point month in January, Dan DeSalvo is on a hot streak- a six game point streak as well. The rookie out of Bowling Green State University has produced five points in the first four games of February. The 23 year-old has 38 points in 42 games with the Oilers this season. DeSalvo is fourth among rookies in points (38) and third in assists (27). The forward leads the rookies in the ECHL with a plus-minus of 19.
@KuceDaddy3
Oilers defenseman Connor Kucera, another Bowling Green State University product, is also having a stand-out month. The 6-foot 2, 206-weighing rookie known as "Thor" achieved his first profession goal on January 31 against the Allen Americans. Since then, he has been the owner of two game-winning goals and an assist. The defenseman has inked five points in his last six appearances.
MOVING MOOSE
Tuesday, the Tulsa Oilers announced that defenseman Brennan Serville has been re-assigned to the Oilers from the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League. Serville, 22, began the 2015-16 campaign with the Tulsa Oilers where he played in seven games and produced an assist on October 16, 2015 against the Wichita Thunder.
2-for-1
The Oilers made a trade with the Indy Fuel with forward Brandon Wong and defensemen Trevor Campbell in exchange for forward Josh Brittain.
FANTASY SWEATERS
Earlier in December Fans had the opportunity to vote on ECHL.com for one player on each ECHL member team's ballot to help select the 2015-16 Fantasy Team. This chosen player would wear a specialty jersey at a home game. A goaltender for each team would also wear a unique jersey and participate in the MeiGray Golden Goalie Program. The winners voted upon for the Tulsa Oilers were forward Mathieu Gagnon and goaltender Kevin Carr. These two will debut their ECHL Fantasy Team jerseys this Saturday, February 13 against the Quad City Mallards.
