Oilers Assign Roy And Davidson To Stockton

Oklahoma City - The Edmonton Oilers, parent club of the Oklahoma City Barons, have assigned goaltender Olivier Roy and defenseman Brandon Davidson to the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL, Barons General Manager Bill Scott announced today.

Roy, a 6-0, 170-pounder from Amqui, Quebec has appeared in 19 games with the Barons this season, posting a 7- 8-1 record, 2.86 goals against average and .899 saves percentage. Last season, Roy played in 40 games for Stockton, going 16-18-5, with a 2.49 goals against average, .925 saves percentage and four shutouts. The Oilers 5th round draft choice (133rd overall) played four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with Cape Breton and Acadie-Bathurst before turning pro.

Davidson, a 6-1, 202-pounder from Lethbridge, Alberta returned to the Barons lineup February 8 after undergoing successful treatment for testicular cancer. His treatment included removal of the cancerous tissue and one round of chemotherapy. Davidson, the Oilers 6th round selection (162nd overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft has skated in eight games with the Barons this season, registering two points. Prior to turning pro, he played three seasons with the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League.

The Barons are on the road for two games this weekend against the South Division leading Texas Stars. Faceoff for the game Friday is 7:30 p.m., while faceoff Saturday is 7 p.m. Both games can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
