Oilers Assign Defenseman Theo Peckham to OKC on Conditioning

Oklahoma City - The Edmonton Oilers, parent club of the Oklahoma City Barons, assigned defenseman Theo Peckham to Oklahoma City on a conditioning loan, Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today.

Peckham, a 6-2, 235-pounder from Richmond Hill, Ontario, was the Oilers 3rd round draft choice (75th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He has appeared in 156 games in the NHL, all with Edmonton, scoring 17 points (4-13-17) and serving 382 penalty minutes.

Peckham has significant experience in the American Hockey League, skating in 143 games over three seasons. In those 143 games he scored 38 points (12-26-38) and served 387 penalty minutes. In all, he has appeared in 303 games as a pro with Edmonton, Springfield Falcons (AHL) and San Francisco (ECHL), scoring 55 points (16-39-55) and serving 780 penalty minutes.

Prior to turning pro, Peckham played 181 games with the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League. In those games, he scored 60 points (17-43-60) and served 618 penalty minutes.

The Barons return to action this weekend with two home games against the Grand Rapids Griffins. Friday is Concession Specials night with $1 hot dogs and $2 draft beers. Saturday is another Drive Away Every Saturday. One lucky fan will drive away in a Ford Taurus from John Vance Auto. Faceoff for both games is 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center. Both games can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
