Edmonton Oil Kings News Release
EDMONTON, ALTA. - The Edmonton Oil Kings have signed centre Brian Harris to WHL Standard Player Agreements, general manager Randy Hansch announced Thursday.
Harris, 17, is a native of Wawanesa, MB and was taken in the 11th round (227th overall) in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
"We were pleased with Brian's overall development this season," said Hansch. "It all started with Brian having a productive Training Camp with us which carried over into his season. Brian plays an honest hard working two-way style that has the versatility to play a few of the forward positions. We look forward to watching Brian to continue on developing and being a part of our future."
This past season Harris played in 40 games with the Southwest Cougars in the Manitoba Midget AAA League. The 5'11, 185-pound centreman had 30 points (11G, 19A) and 18 PIM. In 2014-15 he appeared in 31 games and collected two goals and six assists as well as 30 PIM.
